Barb MacIntyre is a long-time full-time studio artist with emphasis on traditional weaving, understanding weave structure, and exploring surface color and design.  Barb has been weaving since 1972.  Founder of The Skein & Cane weaving school in Helena, MT, prior to moving to Kitsap County in 1988.  She has been teaching weaving since 1978.  A past member of Montana Institute of the Arts, her experience in addition to numerous personal gallery shows, commissioned works, has been as a board member of Montana Institute of the Arts, a Judge for Electrum (Montana’s primary juried art show), past member of the Handweaver’s Guild of America and Helena Weavers Guild.  Barb is also the former owner of Baird Originals, a line of handwoven clothing and interior design products. She has also written articles and published in Complex Weavers Journal.
